J. Cole:: The low season [Dreamville/Interscope/Roc Nation]
J. Cole of North Carolina said the 2018 sequel to KOD was called The Fall Off, but for now he’s back with The Off-Season. Earlier this month he released the song “Interlude”. Applying Pressure, a behind the scenes documentary about the making of the album, hit YouTube this week.

Sons of Kemet:: Black in the future [Impulse!]
According to Sons of Kemet bandleader and saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings, the second album by jazz trio Black to the Future shows “a movement to redefine and reaffirm what it means to strive for black power”. Arrived three years after its predecessor Your Queen Is a Reptile, the album features guest appearances by Moor Mother, Angel Bat Dawid and grime artist D Double E as well as Kojey Radical and Lianne La Havas on “Hustle”.
