A Quiet Place: Part II, written and directed by John Krasinski, begins with a retrospective that enables the audience to witness the arrival of the sound-sensitive aliens on Earth. Then it instantly jumps back to the second we left the surviving members of the Abbott family. Evelyn (Emily Blunt), Regan (Millicent Simmonds), Marcus (Noah Jupe) and the new baby have no choice but to venture beyond the confines of their property and find safe haven elsewhere – their chosen destination is a far one distant camp where beacons are burning. At the same time, Regan is confident that the improved cochlear implant her father (Krasinski) built is key to defeating the violent invaders and is working to find a way to make the most of it.
