ABC’s Wonder Years pilot lands Don Cheadle to tell the story
After the main family was rounded off with the additions of Dulé Hill (Psych) and Laura Kariuki (Black Lightning), ABC’s reboot pilot of the iconic sitcom The wonderful years has found its narrator in The falcon and the winter soldierAccording to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s Don Cheadle. The narrator role in the original series was played by Daniel Stern, best known for his roles on the series Home alone and City dwellers Franchise companies and Dilbert in the animated series of the same name and to play the leading role Shrill as the father of Aidy Bryant’s character.

The single-camera comedy is being developed by Saladin Patterson (Dave), Lee Daniels (rich) and original series star Fred Savage and will shift focus from the world of the Arnolds in the late 80s to the Williamses, a middle-class black family in Montgomery, Alabama, in the turbulent 60s that worked hard to make sure it was the Time for them too, the miracle years.
Hill has pledged to appear as Bill Williams, the family patriarch who is a music professor by day and a radio musician by night, who has been named by the adult version of the main character Dean as “the nastiest guy i knew“Who is almost always calm and relaxed and whose favorite words are”be cool. “Bill works hard to keep his family and their black middle-class neighborhood self-sufficient. Although Bill and mother Lillian try to prepare her for college, she begins to rebel, referring to Eldridge Cleaver’s “Soul on Ice” as her source of inspiration for her life rather than the SATs.
The Psych Alum joins a cast led by Elisha Williams as Dean and Saycon Sengbloh as Lillian. She is described as astute, confident, kind, empathetic, and with a good sense of humor who knows exactly what to do, and expertly balance her life as a mother and accountant thanks to her organization, efficiency, and hardworking spirit.
Patterson and Savage are co-producing the project with Daniels and Marc Velez through their Lee Daniels Entertainment production banner, while Neal Marlens, co-creator of the original series, will act as advisor. 20. Television is the studio for the project.

The original Wonder years ran from 1988-1993. Co-created by Marlens and Carol Black, the Golden Globe and Emmy comedy drama starring Fred Savage, Dan Lauria, Alley Mills, Olivia d’Abo, Jason Hervey, Danica McKellar and Josh Saviano and was narrated by Daniel Stern.
