Antoine Fuqua will direct Cat on a Hot Tin Roof adaptation
When he and star Will Smith (Suicide squad) are currently looking for a new location for the drama emancipationDirector Antoine Fuqua keeps his dance card full when he pledges to direct and produce a film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Cat on a hot tin roofaccording to variety.

Tennessee Williams’ legendary play premiered in 1955 and is based on his short story “Three Players in a Summer Game”. Set in the Mississippi Delta on the plantation of Big Daddy Pollitt, a wealthy cotton tycoon, it examines the relationships between his family, mainly between his son Brick and Maggie, the “cat”, Bricks wife, and topics like greed, family , Death and sexual oppression.
The Broadway play experienced a resurgence in 2008, becoming the first all-African-American production to write history, selling out for 19 weeks, and being the top-selling piece of the season. Producers Stephen C. Byrd and Alia Jones-Harvey will work with Fuqua to develop their vision for the piece.new storylines and weave them together to bring production to the silver screen. ”

Fuqua will co-produce the film through its production label Fuqua Films with Byrd and Jones-Harvey through the Front Row Productions banner.
