Antoine Fuqua will direct Cat on a Hot Tin Roof adaptation

Tennessee Williams’ legendary play premiered in 1955 and is based on his short story “Three Players in a Summer Game”. Set in the Mississippi Delta on the plantation of Big Daddy Pollitt, a wealthy cotton tycoon, it examines the relationships between his family, mainly between his son Brick and Maggie, the “cat”, Bricks wife, and topics like greed, family , Death and sexual oppression.

The Broadway play experienced a resurgence in 2008, becoming the first all-African-American production to write history, selling out for 19 weeks, and being the top-selling piece of the season.
