During FX’s TCA presentation, Chairman John Landgraf revealed several new status updates regarding FX’s long-awaited third and fourth seasons Atlanta.

Landgraf has confirmed that the network is currently aiming for a release date for the third season, which was filmed primarily in Europe, in early 2022. He also shared that season four production has already started in Atlanta while teasing about how great the scripts are in both seasons.

“We haven’t finalized the schedule for season 3 as filming has just finished – it will be shot mostly in Europe,” Landgraf said (via Deadline). “It’s in post-production and it’s a long post-production process, and part of that is because we’re currently producing the fourth season in Atlanta. All of the scripts for this season were written and I absolutely love the scripts for both seasons. “

He also announced that it is currently difficult for her to set a definitive return date for the acclaimed comedy-drama due to the busy schedules of executive producers Donald Glover and Hiro Morai.

“The reason I can’t set a date right now is because it’s dictated by the schedule and availability of Donald Glover and Hiro Morai, and the length of the post, both for Season 3 while Season 4 is in production. I’ve listed it as one of the things coming back in the first half of 2022, that’s our expectation. I think we will be able to set an actual date for 3 and maybe for both cycles in the next few months. “
