Masters of the Air: Austin Butler & Callum Turner join the sequel to Band of Brothers

Apple Studios Gang of brothers Continuation of the series of events Master of the Air added Austin Butler (Once upon a time … in Hollywood, The dead don’t die) and Callum Turner (Emma., The recording) to be cast after the deadline. Butler will appear as Major Gale Cleven with Turner as Major John Egan.

Master of the Air is a sequel to HBO’s World War II Emmy Award-winning miniseries Gang of brothers and The Pacific. Based on the book by Donald L. Miller, the new miniseries follows the true, deeply personal story of the American bomber boys in World War II who brought the war to Hitler’s doorstep.

The series was written by John Orloff (Gang of brothers) and Graham Yost, Emmy and Golden Globe winner. Both will co-produce the project, which Apple Studios is co-producing with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman’s Playtone.

Executive producers are Spielberg, Hanks and Goetzman. The co-executive producers also include Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Amblin Television and Steven Shareshian of Playtone. Alex Maggioni will be responsible for Amblin alongside Spielberg, Frank and Falvey.

Gang of brothers was broadcast in 2001 and nominated for 20 Primetime Emmy Awards. Seven of them were awarded Outstanding Miniseries. It also won the Golden Globe for Best Mini-Series or Film for TV. The Pacific aired and nominated for 24 Primetime Emmy Awards in 2010, winning eight of them including Outstanding Miniseries.
