Bachelor – the musical project by Jay Soms Melina Duterte and Palehounds Ellen Kempner – has announced Doomin ‘Sun Fest, a one-day livestream festival and telethon in aid of Seeding Sovereignty. The lineup includes Tegan & Sara, Tune-Yards, Vagabon, Soccery Mommy, Lucy Dacus, Courtney Barnett, Benjamin Gibbard, Adrianne Lenker, Jeff Tweedy, Faye Webster, the Japanese Breakfast, Julien Baker and more. You can find the event poster here.

Doomin ‘Sun Fest will take place on June 10th at 6 p.m. Eastern, followed by a virtual afterparty in the Hotel Hideaway game. The festival will present the first bachelor’s concert ever. The livestream is free to attend while donations to Seeding Sovereignty are encouraged.

According to a press release, the event is an opportunity for “community, compassion, climate and celebration”. “Basically, we just want to have fun celebrating our album release, raising funds for Seeding Sovereignty, and getting people to donate and open their hearts to festival themes,” said Bachelor. “The ‘4 C’, as we call them – that’s what drives this endeavor.”

Bachelor’s (also called Doomin ‘Sun) debut album will be released on May 28 via polyvinyl. Read Pitchfork’s “Jay Som and Palehound About Their New Band Bachelors and Friendship At First Sight”.
