Basilica SoundScape 2021 has been announced. The festival will take place from September 17th to 18th at the PS21 Performance Spaces for the 21st Century in Chatham, New York. The first announcement of the line-up reveals that Moor Mother, William Basinski, Circuit Des Yeux and Tomberlin will perform.
Basilica SoundScape is programmed by Basilica Hudson founders and creative directors Melissa Auf der Maur and Tony Stone. It was created in collaboration with former Pitchfork editor and current editor-in-chief of The Creative Independent Brandon Stosuy and former Pitchfork creative director Mike Renaud.
“There were no live shows for over a year due to COVID,” Stosuy said in a statement. “I was hoping people would take this time to rethink how live music works, but since the shows have returned it mostly feels like normal business. For our part, we thought it would be a good time to take the idea of a festival apart and put it back together – and put it in an apple orchard. “
