beabadoobee announced Our Extended Play, a new EP produced and written with Matty Healy and George Daniel in 1975. The Dirty Hit signatory’s next project is out this spring. Listen to the lead single “Last Day on Earth” below. And at 3 p.m. Eastern, you can watch the music video of the song, made by Arnaud Bresson of the Paris Division.
“Last Day on Earth ‘is about all of the things I would have done if I had known we were going into a lockdown and the world was going to change its way,” Beabadoobee said in a press release. “It was written shortly after the first major lockdown and I lyrically think about how it would feel if we all knew in advance what was going to happen. All the things I would have done if I had known it was the last day of our old normal. I wrote and recorded the EP on a farm with Matty and George from 1975 in the country. It was really nice to be able to create together, to write and record my first time in this environment. I wanted to experiment more with the sounds and sonics and the EP has a feeling of togetherness for me … how we are all in this unit. “
Our extended play follows last year’s Fake It Flowers. Beabadoobee’s first real tour behind this album will begin in the UK in September after festival appearances in July and August. Also check out the full list of dates below.
