The 2021 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival has been canceled due to flooding caused by Hurricane Ida-induced rain. The festival in Manchester, Tennessee, was due to start this weekend (September 2-5) with headliners Megan Thee Stallion, Foo Fighters, Tame Impala, Lizzo and many others. Read the official announcement of the festival below.
“Although the weather looks great this weekend, Centeroo is currently wet in many areas, the ground on our tollbooth paths is incredibly saturated and the campsites are so flooded that we can no longer drive safely or park vehicles,” the festival stated.
Bonnaroo has not taken place since 2019. The 2020 edition of the festival was initially postponed in mid-March and then completely canceled in June. On Monday, the festival announced that due to the heavy rain, “areas of our campsites will be made unusable”. A full refund was offered to everyone concerned. Now the festival has been completely abolished.
