Chvrches are back with a new single, “He Said She Said”. It is the first new piece of music from Chvrches since the release of Death Stranding, their contribution to the Hideo Kojima game of the same name in 2019. Listen to it below.
“He Said She Said” was recorded almost entirely remotely on both sides of the Atlantic, with the band members working through zoom and audio sharing software to collaborate. It comes out three years after the Scottish electronic trio’s latest album Love Is Dead was released.
“‘He said she said’ is my way of reckoning on things that I’ve accepted that I know I shouldn’t have,” Lauren Mayberry said in a statement. “All lines of verse are ironic or paraphrased versions of things actually said to me by men in my life. Being a woman is damn exhausting and it felt better to scream it into a pop song than scream it into space. After the past year, we can all relate to the feeling of losing our minds. “
