DaBaby no longer performs at the Austin City Limits Music Festival or Music Midtown, announced the respective festivals. Additionally, according to Rolling Stone, DaBaby won’t be performing at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in September. The Charlotte rapper was previously removed from the Lollapalooza, Governors Ball and Day N Vegas Bills. Pitchfork reached out to DaBaby representatives for comment and more information.
DaBaby has faced significant backlash over the homophobic comments he made while appearing on Rolling Loud Miami in July. After his performance, he released the music video for “Giving What It’s Supposed to Give” and ended the visual with the message: “Don’t Fight Hate With Hate. I apologize that I am how you want the freedom to be you. “
DaBaby released a statement yesterday (August 2nd) in which he wrote: “I would like to apologize to the LGBTQ + community for the hurtful and offensive comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV / AIDS, and I know it is important to be educated about it. “
