Deadline brings the word Krapopolis, Dan Harmons (Rick and Morty, Community) new Fox project, will be the first animated series curated exclusively on the blockchain. Fox and Bento Box Entertainment are opening a marketplace for the new show that includes curating and selling digital goods. Krapopolis takes place in the mythical ancient Greece and follows the story of a flawed family of people, gods and monsters who try to run one of the first cities in the world without killing each other.

Harmon is acting as the creator and executive producer of the project. The new animated series is part of Harmon’s exclusive direct animation deal with FOX Entertainment. As a result of this deal, the project will be 100% owned by FOX Entertainment, who will produce the series, with Bento Box Entertainment serving as the program’s animation studio. The project is currently scheduled to make its debut in spring 2022.

Harmon first became known on the small screen in the later years as the co-creator and author of The Sarah Silverman Program and creator, executive producer, and majority showrunner at NBC Community, which had six Emmy-nominated seasons from 2009 to 2015. He would continue to work Rick and Morty with Justin Roiland for Adult Swim, which became one of the biggest adult animated series of the past decade.
