After Disney acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019, many fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were extremely excited about the prospect of some classic characters who could potentially find their way into the bigger MCU. One of those characters is Deadpool, who was always a fan favorite but blew up after the first two Dead Pool Films released with critical acclaim.

Talking to Inverse about a new interview, Tim Miller who conducted the first Dead Pool Movie, was asked about Deadpool’s possible inclusion in the MCU, and whether the character could function without the R-rated antics he’s become known for. According to Miller, these things wouldn’t matter much if Ryan Reynolds were still playing the character.
“I think Ryan Reynolds’ take on the character and the way he embraces that particular kind of insanity – even if you said he won’t use four-letter words – would still be there,” Miller said. “He’s still that character. You can take out the R-rated parts if you want and it would still be Deadpool if Ryan did. “

While fans might still be concerned about Deadpool being changed to suit the more family-friendly aspects of the MCU, Kevin Feige seemed to have everyone reassured by confirming this in January Deadpool 3 happened and would not only be included in the MCU but also be rated R.
