Dexter Fletcher guessed the Paramount + Godfather making-of series
While the project may have lost its star in January, Paramount + is pushing its series, which is about creating a legendary gangster epic The Godfather as two-time BAFTA candidate Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman, Eddie the Eagle) has signed up as a director and executive producer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Entitled The offerThe story is based on the never-before-seen experiences of Oscar and Golden Globe winner Albert S. Ruddy on his journey to Mario Puzo’s epic detective novel The Godfather Bring to life on the big screen with Francis Ford Coppola, who leads the adaptation and writes the script with Puzo. The 10-episode series was supposed to be Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger) as Ruddy, although he left the project in January in the early days of its ongoing scandal.

The series is written and produced by Michael Tolkin (Escape to Dannemora) alongside Fletcher, Fletcher’s production partner Dalia Ibelhauptaite, showrunner Nikki Toscano (Hunter) and Emmy winner Leslie Greif (Hatfields & McCoys). Sources report that now that Fletcher is chairing the first block of episodes, Paramount Television Studios plans to accelerate production of the project, with the director also involved in the casting process and creating the look of the series.
