Dinosaur Jr. is postponing its tour dates in September and October. The band cited “the increase in COVID cases and hospital stays as well as the effects that the Delta variant is currently having” as the reasons for the postponement. Dinosaur Jr. said the shows are being postponed and that they are still planning to start their North American tour in November. Below is the announcement.

Dinosaur Jr. announced their tour back in March when the COVID-19 vaccine became available to many American adults. In the months that followed, the contagious delta variant of the coronavirus led to an increase in COVID-19 cases, especially among those who were not vaccinated. Many musicians have taken steps to reduce the risk of concerts. Phoebe Bridgers, for example, moved all indoor shows to outdoor locations, and Jason Isbell requires his concertgoers to get vaccinated or show a negative test.
