After causing a stir online in their first year, Sebastian Stan and Lily James transformed into Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson Pam & Tommy In photos, director Craig Gillespie has further hyped Stan and James’ upcoming appearances, annoying how incredibly surprised audiences will be at how they brought these two celebrities to life on screen.
“It’s been an incredible journey for them to make this transformation physically with their training but also with what they do as an actor,” Gillespie said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “It is very challenging when you deal with cult characters in the media and they are being scrutinized very carefully. And trying to take on a character like Pamela, who is so familiar, and being able to do something that isn’t just an imitation is a daunting task for an actor. I think the audience will be incredibly surprised at how much Lily’s has [James] was able to bring this character to life as a fully trained person as opposed to an impersonation.
“Tommy Lee has this energy and spontaneity for him that I’ve never seen in Sebastian’s work. It’s a completely different version of everything I know about him. But by nature I felt he could get there and he did so much work and even transformed physically to get to this place. It was so much fun I have to say. I think the two in scenes together are pretty electric. “
The acclaimed filmmaker also confirmed he didn’t expect the huge response the photos had received when they were first released, revealing that the black and white photo of James and Stan was somehow encapsulated Pam & TommyRelationship.
“I was just about to shoot Pam & Tommy that day and every time I stepped off the set everyone was crazy about the reaction that happened. I wasn’t expecting it at all, ”said Gillespie. “I wasn’t even sure they’d drop photos. But it was the photos that I wanted to be dropped, especially the black and white photo. I just felt like it embodied their relationship on the show as well. “
