Dizzee Rascal, the grime music pioneer who was born Dylan Kwabena Mills, has been charged with assault, The Guardian and The Associated Press report. According to The Guardian, the London Metropolitan Police said in a statement: “Dylan Mills, 36, of Sevenoaks, Kent, was charged with assault on June 8 following an incident at a residential address in Streatham on June 8th. Officials were present and one woman reported minor injuries. She didn’t need any hospital treatment. “
Dizzee Rascal, who released his latest album E3 AF last year, is reportedly on bail and is expected to be released on Friday 3rd September at Croydon Magistrates Court in south London.
In 2020 Dizzee Rascal was named a member of the Order of the British Empire.
