Drake was named Artist of the Decade at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night, May 23rd. After his friends and family presented the award, Drake took to the stage with his son Adonis. He gave a speech in which he talked about how his lack of confidence in his music – how he always wondered how to make music better – pushed him to keep doing things. Check out his acceptance speech below.

In addition to his Artist of the Decade trophy, Drake has received multiple awards from the BMAs. He is nominated for Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Streaming Song (“Life is Good”) and Top Rap Artist. He won the trophy for Top Streaming Songs Artist today.

Drake’s long-running studio album Certified Lover Boy hasn’t been released yet, but he’s been busy since he announced the project last fall. In March, he dropped the Scary Hours 2 EP, the sequel to the Scary Hours EP from 2018. The newer project features performances by Rick Ross and Lil Baby. Last week Drake co-shot a new track with Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne called “Seeing Green” which was released on Minaj’s streaming debut of her 2009 mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty.
