Over the past 20 years the quality level of the various titles in the Fast & Furious series has changed remarkably. The first film is essentially a road racing point break rip-off, and a terrible second installment followed, but then things took a surprising turn for the exciting and eye-catching with Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift. The third sequel, Fast & Furious, proved a step in the wrong direction, but then the franchise really took off. Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6 and Furious 7 successfully rebuilt the brand and turned it into an amazing blockbuster powerhouse. Unfortunately, that amazing run of The Fate Of The Furious ended abruptly in 2017, which is too silly and messy to be fun.
