Marvel is bringing that back Captain America Film franchise.
According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Disney and Marvel Studios are having Malcolm Spellman develop the fourth episode of the series, which is tentatively named Captain America 4. It will take place after the Disney + show The falcon and the winter soldierthat Spellman created and executed as a showrunner. Dalan Musson, who worked on the television series, is also working on the script. There is currently no director assigned to the project.

THR says there aren’t yet an official cast tied to the project, and the final episode of the Disney + show opened up plenty of opportunities as to who will be next to take on the Captain America coat. Previously, Chris Evans played superhero Steve Rogers in several avenger more movies Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War.
The report says it will likely be Anthony Mackie who plays Sam Wilson / Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Falcon is currently wearing the shield, so that’s the most natural conclusion. Mackie’s co-star Sebastian Stan is also likely to star as Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier. Given that there have been multiple Captain Americas in Marvel lore and even the MCU, there are many interesting options for the film.
Additionally, Deadline reports that Chris Evans is also talking about a return to the MCU as Steve Rogers, but on a separate project. It is said that Evans would likely appear “in at least one Marvel mansion with an open door for a second movie” and that the Mackie led him Captain America 4 is separated.
