Jazz on a summer day
Filmed at the Newport Jazz Festival in Rhode Island in 1958, directed by world-famous photographer Bert Stern, Jazz on a Summer’s Day features intimate performances by an all-star cast of music legends such as Louis Armstrong, Thelonious Monk, Gerry Mulligan and Anita O’Day , Chuck Berry, Dinah Washington and closes with a beautiful rendition of the Our Father by Mahalia Jackson at midnight to usher in Sunday morning.

Nationtime is his vivid account of the 1972 National Black Political Convention, held in Gary, Indiana, a historic event attended by Black delegates from across the political spectrum including Jesse Jackson, Dick Gregory, Coretta Scott King and Dr. Betty Shabazz. A man named Adam
Legendary entertainer Sammy Davis Jr. (Anna Lucasta) makes headlines with Louis Armstrong (Paris Blues), Ossie Davis (Jungle Fever), Cicely Tyson (Bustin ‘Loose), Mel Tormé (The Big Operator) and Rat Pack member Peter Lawford ( Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell) in this powerful drama about a jazz musician who “has it all” – love, friendship and fame – whose tortured past threatens to destroy him and his career.

A fairy tale about two cities
Ronald Colman (The Prisoner of Zenda) plays Sydney Carton as a sardonic, determined, wasteland destined to break free in an act of courageous sacrifice. It’s a far better thing than I’ve ever done, Carton muses at this crucial moment.
