Based on Paul Gallico’s novel of the same name and in collaboration with the House of Dior, the story revolves around a widowed cleaning lady in 1950s London who falls in love with a couture Dior dress and decides to have one of her own. After working, starving and gambling to raise money to make her dream come true, she embarks on an adventure in Paris that will change not only her own perception, but also the future of the House of Dior.

Anthony Fabian (Skin, good hope) directed the adaptation of a script that he, Carroll Cartwright, Keith Thompson and Olivia Hetreed wrote together. Next to Manville is Isabelle Huppert (Isle of Dogs, Greta), Jason Isaacs (The death of Stalin, Scoob!), Lambert Wilson (The Matrix 4, Benedetta), Alba Baptista (Warrior nun, Fatima), Lucas Bravo (Emily in Paris) and Rose Williams (Changeland, Medici).

“Anthony transports audiences to the nostalgia and glamor of 1950s London and Paris, as well as the timeless fantasy of Dior haute couture, and offers both Ms. Harris and us a welcome escape from our everyday lives,” said Focus President of Production & Acquisitions Kiska Higgs said in a statement. “We are delighted to be working again with the brilliant Lesley Manville and Isabelle Huppert who fill the screen with sharpness and verve.”
