A trio of classic 80s anime have made their way to the Funimation streaming service.

Starting today, May 23rd, the full anime TV series is available from God Mazinger and Space adventure Cobraas well as the anime film Little Nemo: Adventure in Slumber Landwill be available on the streamer. The three new entries further expand Funimation’s legendary anime offering Speed ​​racer, Dragon Ball Z, and Astro Boy.

God Mazinger is an anime, manga and novel series by the artist Go Nagai. The 23-episode anime originally aired in Japan in April 1984. Directed by Yoshio Hayakawa and Hiroyuki Onodera. The manga was written and illustrated by Go Nagai. While it follows a similar plot thread as the anime, it differs in a number of ways, including its mature tone and a different ending.

The Space adventure Cobra Anime is based on that cobra Manga written and illustrated by Buichi Terasawa. It was serialized in Shuesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from November 1978 to November 1984. However, 11 minutes of the film was cut to give it a G rating. The film is directed by Masami Hata and William Hurtz. It is based on the comic book of the same name by Winsor McCay.
