George Clooney’s The Tender Bar adds Lily Rabe to the ensemble

On the heels of conversations with X-Men Alum Tye Sheridan for the film, George Clooney added to the list for his adaptation of The tender bar how American horror story According to The Hollywood Reporter, veterinarian Lily Rabe has committed to star in the film.

Based on the memoir of the same name by JR Moehringer, the story revolves around an eight-year-old boy who grew up on Long Island and is looking for his father in a local bar, only to build connections with customers at the bar he sees, or as father figures trying to find a way to move forward in his life and accept the love of his single mother. Sheridan will appear as Möhringer, while Oscar winner Ben Affleck (The way back) is supposed to appear as his uncle and Raven as his mother.

The screenplay for the film was written by William Monahan, best known for his Oscar-winning work on the ensemble crime thriller directed by Martin Scorsese The departed, as well as Body of lies and The edge of darkness. The film was originally made by Sony with Theodore Melfi (Hidden figures) was attached to direct, but after leaving the project, the studio put it on a turnaround when Amazon acquired the rights shortly thereafter.

Clooney should go on Midnight sky, in which he starred and produced, with MGM’s adaptation of Guys in the boatHowever, sources report that given the complexities of filming the Olympic sports drama, he made his decision amid a pandemic Tender bar his next project is still on guys. It is currently unclear whether Clooney will also play Tender barBut given his appearance in all but one of the films he has directed over the past 18 years, whether as a supporting or leading role, the chances are good he will find a role to play.
