Almost everyone assumed that the imminent God of War PS5 game was named after Sony annoyed that “Ragnarok is coming,” and now we know that this is officially the title of the upcoming action game. Sony’s latest investor relations document shows that the game is actually being called God of War: Ragnarok.
The more exciting tidbit is that the latest entry in Kratos’ adventure has a chic new logo. It’s all in blue and uses the same font as the previous teaser. God of War: Ragnarok will be the ninth game in the God of War franchise. Exclusive to PlayStation 5, it has already been announced for a release in 2021, although there have been no official updates to suggest it is still happening or has been delayed. 2018 God of War served as a gentle restart of the franchise that led from Greek mythology to the inspiration of Norse mythology. While Kratos is still the playable character and is confirmed to be the same person, he now has a son named Atreus. The emotional journey was critically acclaimed and widely acclaimed for its plot, which was previously viewed as the action series’ weak point. It also had different combat systems compared to previous hack-and-slash entries, which made fighting far more methodical.
