The Godzilla Anime, which was released in Japan earlier this year, will make its global debut on Netflix in June. Netflix announced this today Godzilla Singular Point will be released on June 24, 2021. The show offers a unique art style as it combines hand drawn and computer animation.

The show premiered in Japan on March 25, 2021 via Netflix and aired on Tokyo MX the following week. The experienced anime studios Bones and Orange produced the series together with Atsushi Takahashi as a director.

Takes place in 2030, Godzilla Singular Point follows an engineer named Yun Arikawa and PhD student Mei Kamino. Despite being in different places, the two hear the same song and are led into a fight that endangers the whole world.

Yume Miyamoto speaks Kamino while Shōya Ishige voiced Arikawa. Other singing talents are Tarō Kikuchi, Watari Takagi von Detective Conan Fame, Misaki Kuno, Rie Kugimiya and Ayako Takeuchi among others.

The opening theme of the series is “in case …” by BiSH, and Polkadot Stingray plays the closing song “Aoi”. The music during the show is composed by Kan Sawada, while the character design by Kazue Kato (the creator of the Blue exorcist Manga) and former Studio Ghibli animator Eiji Yamamori designed the monsters.

Netflix has also released a trilogy of Godzilla Animation films. First was 2017 Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters, followed by Godzilla: city on the brink of battle and Godzilla: The Planet Eater in 2018.
