Taylor Swift has shared her new recording of “Love Story,” the first of her efforts to re-record her first six albums after the controversial sale of her early masters recordings in 2019. Below, listen to the song that first appeared on Swift’s 2008 album Fearless.
Swift announced the fully updated Fearless on Thursday, despite having a preview of the newly recorded “Love Story” in early December. Fearless (Taylor’s version), which comes out April 9 and is available for pre-order in multiple editions, features new recordings of six tracks that Swift wrote for the album as a teenager and that were never released. In a statement, Swift called Fearless (Taylor’s version) “the whole story, the whole living picture … the whole dreamscape that is my fearless album.”
After Scooter Braun bought and later resold the master recordings of Swift’s first six albums, Swift said she would re-record them in order to regain control of her work. Swift released her latest record in December, less than six months after releasing folklore the same way.
