DJ Premier thought it was worthy enough to send to the only Westside Gunn who has been and is my favorite artist for a minute. Preem reached out to Gunn and he added two verses, and the hook that same night. I couldn’t even believe it. At first I wanted a drum-less joint (Griselda-style), but Preem insisted he put the drums on AND a classic scratch hook with vocals from none other than Benny the Butcher and Conway the Machine. This song has really manifested and I am honored to have my name next to these titans. When the song was finished, I commissioned Jim Warren to hand-draw an animated film based on the lyrics. It took him about five months of STEADY work to complete. I’m so glad we took the time to do this because Westside Gunn is so well represented in the art world; it had to be the next level to meet its standards.
