Ascension, the first posthumous release from the late South Bronx rapper Fred the Godson, is here. The new album was released today (February 22nd) on his birthday via R1CMG and also coincides with the naming of Frederick’s Thomas Avenue ‘Fred the Godson’ in the South Bronx. The new LP follows the 2020 Payback which was released a month before his death from COVID-19 in April 2020. He was 35 years old. Check out Ascension below.
Fred was a 2011 freshman veteran of XXL – alongside Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, Lil B, Meek Mill, Big KRIT, and YG – and had released four albums in the past four years, including Gordo 2017, God Level 2019, and Training for January 2020 day (with SNL alum Jay Pharoah).
