Matthew Herbert has announced his last album under the name Herbert. Musca was released on October 22nd through Accidental Records. After Around the House in 1998 and Bodily Functions in 2001, it is the latest installment in his domestic house album series. It is led by the first single “The Way” with Y’akato. The album includes guest singers Verushka Grebenar-George, Siân Roseanna, Allie Armstrong, Bianca Rose, Melissa Uye-Parker, Daisy Godfrey and Joy Morgan. “Like probably many other albums made in the past year, Musca reflects the challenges and joys of our closest relationships while the world is in turmoil,” Herbert said in a statement. “Not only with Covid, but also with the increase in state and political violence, Facebook-friendly fascism, white supremacy and a climate in crisis.”
