IFC Films acquires Josh Rubens star-studded werewolves as part of the adaptation
On the heels of his acclaimed directorial debut Scare meJosh Ruben returns to the world of horror comedies after IFC Films acquired the rights to its star-studded adaptation of the Ubisoft VR game Werewolves inside and set it for a June theatrical release!

Posted by Mishna Wolff (I am dejected) and directed by Ruben, the film revolves around the small town of Beaverfield as a proposed gas pipeline creates divisions within the town and a blizzard holds its residents together at the local inn, with newly arrived ranger Finn and postal worker Cecily joining forces to try to keep the peace and uncover the truth behind a mysterious creature that has begun to terrorize the community.

The ensemble’s list for the film includes Sam Richardson (Detroiters), Milana Vayntrub (This is us), George Basil (crash), Sarah Burns (Barry), Michael Chernus (Tommy), Catherine Curtin (Orange is the new black), Wayne Duvall (The hunt), Harvey Guillén (What we do in the shadows), Rebecca Henderson (Russian doll), Cheyenne Jackson (30 skirt), Michaela Watkins (Brittany is running a marathon) and Glenn Fleshler (True detective).
“We found a perfect home in IFC for our first independently produced feature,” said Jason Altman, director of Ubisoft Film & Television, in a statement. “We are still impressed by their enthusiasm, taste and strategy in a complicated marketplace, and we can’t wait to bring this film to fans of the game and a wider audience alike.”

The film is being produced by Altman, Margaret Boykin and Andrew Lieberman for Ubisoft Film & Television, Matt Miller, Natalie Metzger and Benjamin Wiessner for Vanishing Angle and Richardson. Werewolves inside will hit theaters on June 25th, followed by a VOD and digital release on July 2nd.
