I missed it She is all of that when it was released in 1999 – 22 years ago! – but was well aware of the film and the impact it had on my close group of high school friends. And while it Cinderella-inspired plot device – a “jock” falls in love with a “nerdy-because-she-glasses” girl with one more click – remains as cheesy today as it was in the late 90s after seeing the flick earlier this week. I understand the pull and how this more routine comedy grossed over $ 100 million at global box offices.
But most of all, I noticed during my show how much talent there is in the 97-minute film.

Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachel Leigh Cook
Oddly enough, the main stars of She is all of that Years later on the big screen didn’t make a big impression. Hollywood tried its best to make Freddie Prinze Jr. a thing – remember Lieutenant colonel? – and even gave the man his own short-lived TV series, but the actor just did not last. However, he has had success on the small screen in shows like 24, psyche, and Bone, and as a voice actor Star Wars rebels.

Paul Walker
Of all of the cast, Walker was the most successful, at least from an acting standpoint, largely due to the lucrative (and persistent) Fast and Furious Franchise. Before his tragic death in 2013, however, the actor had done a pretty good job of adding his résumé to roles in family adventures like Eight under and supporting roles in more prestigious films such as Flags of our fathers and Pleasantville.
Matthew Lillard
Lillard became famous thanks to Scream, but managed to enjoy a fine career as a character actor in films such as The offspring and the acclaimed television series The bridge. He also played Shaggy in 2002 Scooby Doo and 2004 Scooby-Doo 2: Unleashed Monsters, and has since served as the lead actor for the character in a number of video games and cartoons. Here’s the really crazy part: According to director Robert Iscove’s DVD commentary, M. Night Shyamalan actually spruced up the script! Entertainment Weekly confirmed this in 2013:
