Jarvis Cocker has announced a new album to accompany Wes Anderson’s upcoming film The French Dispatch. Chansons d’Ennui Tip Top will be released on October 22nd (the same day the film opens in theaters) through ATO. It pays homage to French pop music with songs popularized by artists such as Françoise Hardy, Serge Gainsbourg, Brigitte Bardot and Jacques Dutronc. Listen to his rendition of “Aline” by Christophe below.

On the same day that Cocker’s album is released, the original music for the film by Alexandre Desplat is also released. It contains contributions by the pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.
