James Euringer, the singer and songwriter of the New York punk band Mindless Self Indulgence, who goes by the name Jimmy Urine, has been charged with molesting a minor. The lawsuit was filed today with the New York Supreme Court, Rolling Stone reports and documents viewed by Pitchfork confirm.

The woman, identified as Jane Doe and remaining anonymous, alleges in the lawsuit that she and Euringer had a sexual relationship from 1997 to 1999, beginning when she was 15 and Euringer was 27 thought to be sexual attacking behavior was not criminal and that he and the plaintiff were actually in a relationship. ”

The lawsuit states that Euringer admitted that she was a minor and that she “behaved as if she were his girlfriend and the two were in an amicable relationship”. It is also pointed out that he provided her with a fake ID so she could go to concerts and drink alcohol with him, asked her to behave like a small child during sexual activities, “be cool in public.” play ”and only show affection in private.

There is a section of the lawsuit that outlines the history of Mindless Self Indulgence’s shock tactics under the heading “Euringer is a self-identified and self-proclaimed pedophile.” Attachment A is an advertisement dated around 1996 looking for a drummer looking for someone who “doesn’t mind drumming for a gang of pedophiles”. The complaint also refers to the artwork of “Tight” from 1999 and the lyrics of the song “Panty Shot”.

James Galus, manager and producer of Mindless Self Indulgence, is named in the lawsuit alongside Elektra and Warner Music Group. Galus and the labels are being sued for negligence and aiding and abetting the sexual battery.

Pitchfork asked the Euringer representative for a comment.
