Jodie Comer plays Josephine in Ridley Scott’s Napoleon Bonaparte film Kitbag

Jodie Comer has joined Ridley Scott’s (The Martian, gladiator, Black Hawk Down) Biopic epic Duffel bag According to Deadline, Napoleon will play Bonaparte’s beloved Josephine in the upcoming Apple Studios feature film. Golden Globe nominated and Emmy winner Kill Eve Star recently worked on Scott’s drama The last duel, Released October 15, 2021. Directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker, written by Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Nicole Holofcener. The last duel is based on the book by Eric Jager and also plays Affleck, Damon and Adam Driver.

Comer will reunite with Scott Duffel bag to play alongside Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix (joker, The master, gladiator), which portrays the 19th century French emperor.

As previously reported, the title of the film comes from the saying: “There is a general staff hidden in every soldier’s pocket.”

Directed by Scott, Duffel bag is described as an original and personal look at Napoleon’s origins and his quick, ruthless rise to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and a true love, Josephine. The film will capture Napoleon’s famous battles, relentless ambition and “amazing strategic mind as an exceptional military leader and war visionary”.

David Scarpa (All the money in the world) writes the script for the 20th Century Studios project, produced by Scott and Kevin Walsh for Scott Free.

Scott and Kevin Walsh will produce the project for Scott Free. Production of the film is slated to begin in the UK in early 2022.
