Both halves come together in Jungleland as portraits of brothers who, although they care a lot for each other, cannot really figure out how best to express this love. The push and pull between their methods and motivations makes for a mighty battlefield where both Jack O’Connell and Charlie Hunnam deliver some of their best work. That’s not the full extent of Jungleland’s acting talent, however, as Jessica Bardens Sky is the perfect challenge for forcing these siblings to grow, and her vibrantly unpredictable energy keeps them both battling for fortresses. While the stakes outside are quite large, the focus of the film is in the internal environment up to the exciting finale.
