Kacey Musgraves was a guest on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night. She sat down with Colbert to discuss her new album, Star-Crossed, the accompanying film, and more. She talked about the album’s “roller coaster of emotions” and the “plant therapy” (making mushrooms with a guide) during the album’s writing process. She also talked about the first song she ever wrote and watched her grandpa, Willie Nelson, kick his ass while playing poker. Watch it happen below.

The new album is the follow-up to Golden Hour, which won the Album of the Year Grammy in 2019. On September 12, she will make “Star-Crossed” its live debut with an appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards 2021. Her tour behind the album with Muna and King Princess begins in January.
