Oakland-based heavy music band Kowloon Walled City have announced their first new album in six years. Piecework, the follow-up to 2015 Grievances, is out October 8th (via Neurot Recordings / Gilead Media). Check out the album’s title track below.

The album was largely co-written by singer / guitarist Scott Evans and guitarist Jon Howell. According to a press release, Evans wrote the album while coping with his father’s death. It also notes that the album was named after the story of Evans’ grandmother, who “worked in a Kentucky shirt factory for 40 years while raising five children.”
