Three members of the US Congress – Representatives Roger Williams (R-TX), Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO), and Nydia Velázquez (D-NY) – have sent a new letter to the Small Business Administration explaining the delay Questioning the launch of the Shuttered Venue The Operators Grant (SVOG) program was passed on December 27, 2020, according to the New York Times. Eight weeks after it is signed, details of the grant program – including admission requirements and schedule – are yet to be announced.
“Every day that goes by without help calls into question the economic future of so many companies,” the letter said. “We urge the SBA to use all available resources to get this program up and running as soon as possible so we don’t see permanent closings of those stores that are a cultural staple in their communities.”
