Lil Nas X has revealed the cover art for his debut album Montero. The musician said the art was inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants and John Stephens’ Genesis II. Check out the colorful cover below.
In 2019, Lil Nas X used his 7 EP artwork to suggest he was coming out as gay. As reported by TMZ at the time, the rainbow buildings on the cover of the EP served as an allusion to the sexuality of Lil Nas X. There are also rainbow images on the cover of Montero.
Montero will be released through Columbia on September 17th. The record will open with “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” and also contain the singles “Industry Baby” and “Sun Goes Down”.
