Two months after releasing his hit single “MONTERO (Call Me by Your Name)”, Lil Nas X is back with another track. It’s called “Sun Goes Down,” and it comes with a music video where Lil Nas X goes back to 2017 to comfort his high school self. Lil Nas X’s father, RL Stafford, also makes a cameo in the picture. See below.

“Sun Goes Down” is produced by Take A Daytrip, Omer Fedi and Roy Lonzo. Lil Nas X co-directed the video with Psycho Films.

“MONTERO” took the world by storm when it was released in March of this year. The reaction was largely due to the exaggerated music video that culminated with Lil Nas X dealing with Satan (who was also similar to Lil Nas X) before overtaking his throne.

The picture also featured Lil Nas X pole dancing in a way that has been compared to the choreography in FKA Twig’s “Cellophane” clip. FKA branches later thanked Lil Nas X for discussing these similarities with her. Tomorrow Lil Nas X will perform live as a musical guest on Saturday evening.
