Lucy Dacus will play four concerts in different cities in Texas later this month, and today (September 2nd) she announced that all proceeds from these shows will be donated to abortion funds. The decision is in response to the state’s new abortion laws, which are among the most restrictive in the country. “Any money I make from our upcoming shows in Texas will go towards jsyk abortion fund,” Dacus tweeted today. “If you’re not cool with that, don’t come.”

Dacus added that while their Austin and Dallas shows are sold out, there are still tickets left to their Houston and San Antonio concerts. “Come by and bring extra dollars because I’ll find a fundraising situation,” she wrote. You can find their posts below.

The near-total ban on abortion in Texas went into effect yesterday (September 1st). It prohibits abortion procedures after six weeks of gestation and enables individuals, doctors or employees of abortion clinics to sue who perform or assist in the procedure. The law actually forbids abortions, as the majority of women only find out about their pregnancy after six weeks.
