Mastodon have announced their new album. Hushed & Grim will be released on October 29th via Reprise Records. Check out the album track “Pushing the Tides” below. The album was produced by David Bottrill and includes contributions from Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil. The songwriting on the album is partly influenced by the death of the band manager Nick John, according to a press release.
Hushed & Grim follows on from 2017’s Emperor of Sand, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for best rock album. At the 2018 Grammys, Mastodon won Best Metal Performance for Emperor of Sands “Sultan’s Curse”.
