Today 4A Games and Deep Silver announced their post-apocalyptic first-person shooter Metro Exodus will hit the PS5 and Xbox series consoles on June 18th.

As described in the video below, the PS5 and Xbox series are released by Metro Exodus is the “definitive version” of the critically acclaimed game. Using the latest console hardware from Microsoft, 4A Games and Deep Silvers Shooter offer ray-traced and ray-traced emission light, as well as a field of view slider that allows players to enlarge or reduce the viewable play area.

Additionally, Metro Exodus runs at an “absolutely solid” speed of 60 frames per second at 4K resolution with full beam-traced global lighting and emissive lighting on Xbox Series X and PS5 consoles. On the Xbox Series S, the game runs at 60 frames per second and 1080p. All next-generation consoles have faster load times as well as platform-specific features such as spatial 3D sound and controller latency improvements.

This next-gen version of Metro Exodus is completely free for players who already own the game. For Xbox gamers, you can expect to receive these enhancements through Smart Delivery, while PS5 owners can get them as a free upgrade. If you haven’t got your hands on a copy yet, you can grab this one Metro Exodus Complete Edition which includes the base game, both DLC expansions (Sam’s story and The two colonels) and the improvements mentioned above.

Metro Exodus Originally launched in 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. This expanded version of the game will be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S on June 18th.
