Michael B. Jordan heads Creed III, MGM releases Thanksgiving 2022
After the word first swirled in October Black Panther Star eyeing the chair for himself, Deadline has announced that Michael B. Jordan will officially make his directorial debut Creed III and the studio has set the film for a Thanksgiving 2022 release.

“Directing has always been a goal, but the timing had to be right“Jordan said in a statement.”Creed III is this moment – a time in my life in which I have become more and more certain who I am, have an agency in my own story, mature personally, grow professionally and learn from greats like Ryan Coogler, most recently Denzel Washington and others Top -Directors I respect. All of this sets the table for this moment. This franchise and in particular the themes of Creed III are deeply personal to me. I look forward to sharing the next chapter in Adonis Creed’s story with the great responsibility of being its director and namesake.”
While the details of the plot for the sequel are still unknown, including whether or not Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa will return, it has been confirmed that the script will be written by Keenan Coogler (Space Jam: A New Legacy) and Zach Baylin (King Richard) via a story by original co-writer / director Ryan Coogler.

The film is being produced by Charles Winkler, William Chartoff and David Winkler through Chartoff-Winkler Productions in association with Proximity Media along with Jonathan Glickman, Jordan and Coogler, while Adam Rosenberg, Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Evans are executive producers.

Creed II released in 2018 for great reviews from critics, currently maintaining an 83 percent “Certified Fresh” rating from critics for the Rotten Tomatoes rating aggregate and grossing over $ 214 million worldwide, a significant increase over the grossing Originals of $ 173 million.
