The first posthumous DMX album has been announced: Exodus will be released on May 28 via Def Jam. Swizz Beatz Executive produced and produced the new record. He said in a press release:
My brother X was one of the purest and rarest souls I have ever met. He lived his life devoted to his family and music. Most of all, he was generous with his giving and loved his fans beyond measure. With this album, X couldn’t wait for his fans all over the world to hear and show how much he valued each and every person who unconditionally supported him.
The cover for Exodus (see below) is by Jonathan Mannion. Exodus will be Def Jam’s first DMX album since the 2003 Grand Champ.
DMX died on April 9th at the age of 50. His memorial service was held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Saturday, April 24th.
