New enchanted film in the works at Sony Pictures
49 years according to ABC In love with a witch Deadline, which ended its eight seasons run in 1972, announces that Sony Pictures is developing a new film based on Sol Sak’s classic 1960s sitcom. This comes after Marvel Studios’ WandaVision famous used In love with a witch as one of the many inspirations of his episodes. The project is also the second time the studio has adapted the story to the canvas. The first is the 2005 romantic comedy version, starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell.

The original sitcom ran for eight seasons from 1964 to 1972. It played Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha and Dick York / Dick Sargent as Darrin Stephens. It is considered one of the greatest sitcoms in television history, thanks in particular to the destruction of many cultural stereotypes by the show at the time.
