The cult film Faster, pussycat! Kill! Kill! is being converted into a television series with the help of Norman Reedus and AMC Studios.

According to the deadline, Reedus’ Bigbaldhead production company and AMC Studios are in the early stages of development for the Faster, pussycat! Series. While it will adapt the film’s wild story, it will focus on its strong female cast and disruption of social norms. As part of the two-year first-look contract that Reedus signed with the network, the project is fully supported by the estate of Russ Meyer, who directed the original film.

Faster, pussycat! Kill! Kill! is an exploitation film directed by Meyer and co-written by Jack Moran. This is followed by a trio of go-go dancers who go on a rampage in the California desert. It features Tura Satana, Haji, Lori Williams and Susan Bernard. While critically filmed during its first release, it has achieved cult status and is highly acclaimed.

Reedus is best known for his role as Daryl Dixon in the Walking Dead. The final season of the popular AMC show will premiere in August. A TV spinoff starring Daryl’s Carol Peletier and Melissa McBride is slated for debut in 2023.
