We made one simple change that will have a huge impact on how listeners find you: We have updated our categories. Why is that so important? The latest version of Spreaker’s categories is now the same as the categories of Apple Podcasts – – faster, better categorization for you!
Spreaker Categories: What’s New?
To ensure podcasters that our catalog is always up to date with changes and trends in the industry, we’ve created entirely new categories, added tons of sub-categories, and reorganized the listing of certain categories.
We have 10 new categories added (including fiction, history, and true crime) and many new and dedicated sub-categories – including language learning, science fiction and nutrition to name a few. The expanded sub-categories allow producers to get very specific in listing your podcast. For example, the Sports category now has a sub-category for each sport. So when you do podcasts about golf, let people know and help your audience find you! In short, a more specific targeting means an improved recognizability of the listener and thus a higher monetization potential!
On the audience side, it’s much easier to find podcasts that suit your interests. All new categories are available to listeners on the Spreaker homepage to quickly find podcasts on their favorite topics and niche interests.
